Brighter Eyes, Younger Appearance

Bright, youthful faces are characterized by smooth and toned skin around the eyes. As we age, stress, lack of sleep, and a decrease in skin laxity slowly transform our once spry faces. Eyes can droop, become puffy or sag. This has a negative impact on our appearance and can also make it harder to see.

What is An Upper Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is the surgical correction of the skin and muscles around the eyes.

An upper blepharoplasty focuses on the upper eyelids, reducing excess skin and tightening the muscles in the area to give you a more alert and engaged appearance.

A comprehensive understanding of anatomy and aesthetics is critical for a beautiful, refined, natural upper lid blepharoplasty outcome.

What Is The Surgery Like?

An upper eyelid procedure is fairly simple and can be done using local anesthesia and sedation in our accredited facility. Dr. Robb makes an incision in a natural fold of the lid, which reduces visible scarring. Each surgery differs based on what the patient needs, but in general, Dr. Robb repositions or excises unwanted fat and removes excess skin. The goal is to tighten and lift the area for a more youthful look. Upper eyelid surgery takes about an hour.

Given the intricacy of upper blepharoplasty, we frequently see patients seeking revisions from prior surgeries. Our team’s skill and attention to detail ensure that we provide outstanding results, even for the most challenging cases.

Is Recovery From Eyelid Surgery Lengthy?

No, in fact, recovery takes about a week. Swelling and bruising are minimal but should fade in 7-10 days. For some patients, vision may be blurry for a day or two. There may be some discomfort in the first few days after the operation, but no pain.

Dr. Robb will create a specialized aftercare plan for you and personally oversee your recovery. Anxiety after surgery is a normal reaction, so for your peace of mind, Dr. Robb makes himself available to address any questions or concerns you may have after your procedure.
