What She Had to Say About Her Experience:
"My journey with Dr. Robb’s practice began not as an intern, but as a patient. In December 2023, after breaking my nose as a child and living with a deviated septum, my family was referred to Dr. Robb for a septo-rhinoplasty. From the moment I stepped into the office, I was struck by the precision, attention to detail, and expertise that defined his work. My procedure was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I knew I wanted to give back to the practice that had poured so much into me.
Walking in on my first day as an intern, I was both excited and nervous. Dr. Robb’s practice is fast-paced, upbeat, and always moving, and I quickly learned that it takes a special kind of grace and teamwork to keep everything running so smoothly. My goal for the summer was to immerse myself in every aspect of patient care, gaining both hands-on experience and valuable shadowing hours.
Over the course of my internship, I had the opportunity to room patients and take progress photos, assist with patient flow, including setting up rooms for follow-ups, post-ops, and consultations, maintain a sterile environment by turning over rooms and sterilizing instruments, help patients in and out of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Tank, assist nurses in the PACU during recovery, and shadow Dr. Robb in the OR during a variety of surgeries
One of the most rewarding aspects was connecting with patients on a personal level. On more than one occasion, patients even came in asking Dr. Robb for “my nose” after seeing my results — a moment I never could have imagined but was deeply honored by. I also loved being able to share my personal surgical experience with patients considering a septo-rhinoplasty, offering them both encouragement and insight from someone who has been in their position.
Shadowing Dr. Robb in the OR was one of the most fascinating parts of my internship. Watching him perform surgeries — from septo-rhinoplasties using the ultrasonic technique to facelifts, neck lifts, and blepharoplasties — was inspiring. His commitment to perfection is unmatched; he will not finish a procedure until every detail meets his own high standards, always keeping the patient’s best interest at heart.
Beyond technical skills, this internship strengthened my leadership, initiative, and interpersonal communication. At first, I was intimidated by the idea of rooming patients and taking their photos alone. By the end, I felt confident and comfortable, often enjoying the conversations and advice patients shared with me. I also learned so much about the aesthetics side of plastic surgery — from how different injectors approach fillers and Botox/Dysport to the meticulous planning that goes into every surgical case.
Some of my favorite memories were the quieter days, when I could work alongside the nurses to restock and organize, or our team outings, like visiting the gun range together or attending a lunch-and-learn on Epicutis skincare. Those moments of camaraderie deepened my appreciation for the team’s warmth, authenticity, and work ethic.
This internship has solidified my passion for becoming a Physician Assistant in aesthetics or plastic surgery. Witnessing the seamless balance of medical expertise, patient care, and teamwork at a thriving private practice has been invaluable.
To the next intern: immerse yourself fully, ask questions, and seek out the areas that interest you most. The Robb team is here to support your growth — take advantage of every moment, because it goes by quickly.
I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Robb and every member of this team for welcoming me, teaching me, and making me feel like part of the family. The people here are determined, hardworking, and authentic — and I could not have asked for a better place to learn and grow."
